Frog Bayou Cleanup - April 23
The ACC River Valley and Northwest Chapters are joining forces to clean Frog Bayou. Come out and lend a hand Saturday, April 23 at 10:00 am. Volunteers will meet at the gravel parking lot across the street from the Phillips 66 station at the Rudy Exit off of I-49. If water levels permit, the plan is to float the river but if not they will focus on the access points. This event is registered with Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission who is providing gloves and trash bags. There will be a cookout afterward to feed the hungry volunteers.

i can shuttle boats/people up to one of the access points if anyone wants to float.
i'd like to float the Grotto - Lancaster section, but I have to be back home early in the afternoon.

Re: Frog Bayou Cleanup - April 23
Damn good turn out for a grass roots cleanup. I'm guessing 30-50 people at the sand lot this morning. Dennis/Karen &Tracy/Tom did a hell of a job making this run smooth. I'm sure there were plenty more people involved. The water was low (2.5 on the gauge this morning), but for the most part one could float it. Walked my canoe down one or two rapids/shoals/rock gardens but that was primarily based on the load of garbage it was hauling. Could've found a line with a sweeper or two if I wasn't carrying the load.
Lancaster to the first trestle looks a lot better and I am sure the other sections do as well. Highlight was Z dragging an ATV out of the river.

It was a good day. Got lots of trash of the river. There was a gentleman with a little girl at Lancaster with us and I believe his name was Nathan. I believe I have his knife and would like to return it to him. Any help would be appreciated.
