Ed C., myself and one other are meeting at Fulton Branch in the morning 10:30ish to paddle the Dragover section. We may put in at FB or at Ed's place between FB and DO. We will probably take out at River Bluff just down from DO take out. The hill is steeper but less muddy AND it's on the same side of the river as we will put making shuttle shorter and easier. This is your invite to join us.

Re: Dragover Saturday 2/27
Great day on the river today. Can you believe this weather? In February? Was good to paddle with Ed and Shannon again. Enjoyed meeting Don, John and Chris. The six of met at Fulton Branch and then went to put in at Ed's place a little down river from FB because it had easier access. We were dismayed (especially ED) to discover that Ed's property had lost some serious real estate in the last storm. His once nice easy put in is now a 4'-5' drop into the river about 15'-20' feet back from where it used to be. Luckily his neighbor's property still had a nice gravel bar with easy access. We paddled from there through the Dragover section to River Bend. House Rock Rapid proved to be troublesome (CARNAGE) for Shannon, John and Chris. In Chis' defense he ran the drop clean but in his haste to help out John, his father, the current claimed another victory.
This section has seen much bank erosion with many trees lost since last year. There were no areas where the storms had left debris that caused any problems.

Hey Chris, Thanks for the trip report, it sounds like you all had a real nice day! I'm sorry to hear about the erosion loss at Ed's place, as many times as I have put in there, I can easily visualize what it must look like now... Glad the neighbors put-in is still good, that little gravel bar sure makes for a clean (not muddy) entry
At yesterday's level, I know that House Rock Rapid has a pretty frisky eddy line. Even the sneak route to the left requires some finesse to navigate.
I hope to see you all on the Caddo later this Spring.
Best Regards
Jim

Karla,
Just saw your post. Sorry for the delayed reply. Chris and John had wetsuits. Not sure about Shannon.
