Frog bayou water level? Update

Post by BlueHoleArkansas » Thu Dec 03, 2015 10:39 am

Hi, I had some questions on the water level of frog bayou.

I've never been on it but from what I have learned I had considered 3.0 to be minimum for boating.
I Was thinking about going and hitting a river tomorrow and I saw on the Ozark whitewater river info pages it has 2.0 being minimum 2.7 optimum and 4.3 upper runnable. I then did some searching on the forums and saw some post in the past few years that are saying levels at 2.6 and above are good to go with little scraping and some good whitewater still.
I am a novice so I would rather hit the river on the low side.
It is at a 2.8 right now and at the lowest will be 2.6 tommorrow morning. Is this a good doable level from Lancaster to Rudy for little scraping and still some enjoyable whitewater?

Thanks

2.6 a little low but still enough water for a decent run...
My Favorite River is the one that I'm paddling.

Just pulling off the Frog at 2.X (thurs evening). It was and will be great.

May hit it again tomorrow, may hit it again on Saturday. Hard to tell, the Mulberry is prime right now, but the Frog is in my backyard.

Thanks for ya'lls input. Just wanted to provide an update.
I ran the frog friday at a 2.58. I thought it was great. Water level was perfect, not to low and some nice whitewater. In fact I was so impressed with the whitewater and the scenery on this river I ran it again today at a 2.38. My favorite river so far. Just plain fun.

It has been in my quiver of go to rivers for the past decade or so. I ran it again on Friday as well, but today had to hit the Mulberry today. I'm pretty sure we just missed each other on Friday, we were setting shuttle at Rudy when a car with an aqua tandem drove by and by the time we got to the put in a car was parked on river left.
