Bob....I was really looking forward to this trip. I had some stitches removed on Monday, and I thought that would be the end of it....but it is not looking as good as I hoped and I should probably stay away from river water for a bit longer. Hopefully, we will get some rain soon for a trip down the Caddo. Sorry. Cindy

New to boating/whitewater, I can't make it out Friday, but I was curious when they open up the dam what kind of river conditions does it produce?

The Little Missouri Is a narrow fast flowing stream that when the dam is releasing at its normal 2400 cfs discharge is at mild flood-stage. Meaning that the water in many places is past the tree line. This increases the difficulty in preforming rescue. The Little Mo rates a solid Class II with Hinds Bluff Rapid edging into the mild Class III. If you have the basics down (Eddie turn, Peel-out and ferries) you"ll find this a great place to to practice those skills. Multiple play spots are spaced along its course, allowing for good surfing opportunities. It runs primarily summer weekdays with release times not provided until the Friday before the release week. I think thats the information you were looking for. BOB

What was looking for and more! Thank you. Where do they publish the release days?
I've spent a lot of time practicing at The Siloam Springs Kayak Park, but I'm itching to run a real river as soon as I get the chance. The little Mo sounds like it might an opportunity to do so.

Three paddlers from last Friday were joined by three that weren't, including one first timer. Although cooler than previous days it was still warm enough and sunny enough to allow for summer river wear. We played our way down the river and all six of us ate at Los guavas in Glenwood. I have looked ,but found no release listed for next week. This may have been the finale for the season. BOB
