Any Central AR Trips for 10/10?

I just got my first kayak (thanks to the silent auction @ Rendezvous) and I'm hoping to try it out this Saturday. Is anyone planning a trip/would anyone be interested in heading out on Saturday? The Little Maumelle would be most convenient location-wise for me, but I'm open to any location in the Central Arkansas area.
Best,
Molly

Hey Molly,
I missed the evening activities at the vous this year and was curious what brand/model kayak you won. Whatever the case, I know you'll really enjoy it. Have you had time yet to get a paddle and other gear for it? It should be nice weather this weekend to try it out, let us know how you like it!
Best Regards
Jim

I won the Perception Conduit 9.5. I'm excited to try it out! I have a paddle and all the gear that I need - just need someone to go out paddling with me!

I'd be interested in going Saturday, what time were you thinking of going, and did you want to go all the way to two rivers or part way down and back to Pinnacle?

I would prefer to go earlier rather than later - maybe around 9:00 AM?
I would prefer to go part-way there and back since I don't have a shuttle.

I'm bringing my dad along. 9 works for us, we'll see you there.

I hope you all have a nice outing tomorrow, that's a very scenic area. I haven't floated down from Pinnacle SP since early in the Spring but I think Cowper has been over there floating within the last couple of weeks. You might visit with him and ask about the water level. As dry as it has been, I think the first mile below the park may have several spots where you'd have to get out and pull your boats through the trees.
There are several options for floating on the Little Maumelle, one I could suggest is putting in at the private access on Burnett St. and paddling upstream as far as you like and then back. About two miles upstream you come to some really nice cypress groves to explore, also some great views of Pinnacle Mountain in the distance. To get to the access; turn off Hwy 10 on to Pinnacle Valley Rd. then as soon as you cross the railroad tracks, turn to your right on Burnett St. the paved ramp access is straight ahead by the peoples house on the right. They have a collection box by the ramp and ask that you just put $5 per vehicle fee inside. Plenty of parking, nice folks.
Best Regards
Jim

Yes I'd planned on meeting at Pinnacle. Jim may be right about the water level, but i'm not too bothered by having to walk a little.

You all should have a good weather day out there tomorrow. I rode by that area today with a friend on business and the mountain looked as glorious as ever. Have a good day, and do post at trip report.
Best Regards
Jim

Just shared this info via Facebook, so some already know, but thought I'd share it here too since I know not everyone is on FB. Water levels are actually HIGHER from Pinnacle down to the AR river right now, because the pool level behind the dam is generally HIGHER when the flows are very low. So there is no dragging at all if you put in at Pinnacle and paddle towards Two Rivers park. This also makes the return trip very easy.
