I have two conflicts (which some might say is convenient) and will not be able to compete this year. So, if you are a DO cook, this just might be your chance to take home the bacon!! Crane

And, Roger, where have YOU been lately?? You actually have been given a chance to place in the DO Cook-off this year, but spend your time digging at me?? Hmmmm... Isn't there some novice out there who will scramble together an entry to show Roger that, as always, class will tell and talk will walk?? Crane

That's more like it! Who's dish will reign supreme? Somebody's gonna walk away with a $125 gift card to one of our supporting outfitters and bragging rights for another year.

Snaps! We may have to bring Wes out of retirement. He just traded for a bunch of cast iron. I'd show all you amateurs how to do it but alas I'll be otherwise engaged.

So.....is the competition reduced due to the absence of Crane and Deuce or merely the number of competitors? That is the question.

Reference, Crane, last year about this time.

Tim, you have me on that one:) The last several years I have had conflicts that kept me away from Rendezvous on Saturday and, of course, that's when the DO competition is held. This year, again, I will not be coming until the Down River on Sunday. However, I have donated a painting to the Silent Auction and I highly recommend that the winner of the DO take his or her winnings and parlay it to take home a pretty neat piece of paddling art!! Just sayin'...

Larry, we really appreciate your donation to the Silent Auction. You will be missed around the DO cooking area. We will light a chimney in your honor!

Well, I've been to Colorado just a few weeks ago and then on the Buffalo for a few days then I started back to school. Oh wait, you mean with DO comp at Vous!!!
Got no more room in award box after 15+ years of competing (not necessarily every year).
Besides the deep-dish pizza that everyone is talking about looks really interesting!! Game-changer.

Getting closer now. Time to get your recipes perfected.
Remember, this is just folks who like to cook, cooking. No pro's, no semi-pros, just us. Bring your cast iron and let it rip.

I think I'll step up with a sardine, onions, and okra recipe.

I do hope Hillbilly makes chocolate cake again this year. That was great!
