Calling all Instructors - all disciplines

The NW chapter is putting on the "Learn to Paddle" clinic at the Siloam Springs Kayak Park on Aug. 15th.
We will be putting interested, yet novice people from the public in a boat of their choice for a quick lesson with an instructor on the calm part of the park.
We need both paddling instructors and SWR instructors to help out for a short time. Paddling instructors will be paired with a student for direct instruction while SWR maintains safety in the area.
We also need a few folks to help the student dress out properly and choose a boat.
This is a new idea on helping the public get a start in a rather exclusive sport.
Chapters are encouraged to set up a booth.
Please contact me if you can help or have questions.

All of this will be from 10 am until 2 pm.
At 2 pm the Hometown Throwdown starts.

Thanks Steve

Steve also indicates they would love volunteers to help increase the time the instructors have with the visitors.

Wow, I have been impressed with how fast the message about our "Learn to Paddle" session is spreading. However, everywhere I have seen it is where paddlers frequent. So I have a new challenge, I have uploaded the flyer for the event
SSKP - Kayak Quick Start.pdf
Learn to Paddle flyer
(610.83 KiB) Downloaded 114 times
Here is the challenge, I have a $25 gift card to Pack Rat for who ever downloads, prints and hangs the most flyers.
Do not to put them where they will cause litter -
Try to put them where non-paddlers will notice -
Ask permission to hang them -
Post photos on this thread of them hung.
See me at the event to collect.........
