Kayak instructor for summer camp in WI

Post by BEubanks » Mon Mar 30, 2015 3:36 pm

My son-in-law is looking to hire a kayak instructor for a camp he works at, HoneyRock, operated by Wheaton College. The camp is in northern Wisconsin, about 4 hours north and a bit east of Madison. This position would be filled typically by a college student with kayaking experience and skills, instructor's certification not required (I think).

He's also looking for a wilderness skill instructor to teach camp craft, nature identification, etc.

The camp provides several weeks of training and involves a full summer commitment.

Wheaton is a Christian college and the camp is faith-based, so there are some related expectations/requirements, but thought there might be some college students on the board open to spending your summer in cooler climate.

email or pm me and I'll put you in contact with Shane.

Dude, I took my rec boat :kayak: , recumbent bike, and tent to WI for a couple of weeks last Summer and just followed my curiosity. Great camping on the soft soils up there with cool night temps for quality sleep! Lots of lakes with waterfowl. Local cuisine was an awesome combination of a variety of fresh fish :fish: along with farm fresh :chicken: country cooking.

Can't wait to do it again! If I didn't already have plans, I'd seriously consider that job!

p.s. And WI brews are the bestest! :beer2:
