Hi Cindy,
This is Sandy. I met you through Luke and Holly about two years ago. My kids and I all had LL XP9s and floated with you on the Caddo. We are on Spring Break and would love to float, but I don't want to make that drive by myself. I just texted Holly to see if she could join us. If so, we might be able to make this work. I'll post again when she gets back to me. It'll be after our churches get out though. Would love to float with you again if details work out.

Well bummer. Holly and Luke will be on a hiking trip that has been scheduled for some time now. I totally forgot. I just don't feel comfortable finding my way or driving that distance alone with three boats. Maybe another time then.

I remember you, Sandy. Was so impressed at how well your kids paddled. Well, I'll meet up with ya'll some day soon, I hope. Have a fun spring break! Cindy

if the river holds at over 400 cfs i will float tomorrow. have not met you but i float the Caddo frequently enough that David and Gayla Claburn-the folks that own Caddo river camping and canoe rental- call me to paddle the river after storms to chck for hazards. let me know if you are interested. was thinking about it even if i had to paddle by by self.

I might be able to make Tuesday work, but I'm still uncertain of that drive. I would need to shift a couple appts. around too. Does anybody have really good directions from Sherwood to your meeting place? I'm lousy with directions, and I hate getting lost.

Hey! Was just checking on the Caddo with hopes of paddling tomorrow! Yay! Thia is a newbie, but we're headed right now for the Maumelle River where I'll give her a thorough lesson in rec boating strokes, leans, etc. We might bring a 3rd person who is a novice paddler that I had surfing like a madman on his first Upper Buffalo trip last July.

OK. I'm REALLY trying to make this work. Does anybody have GPS coordinates or directions from Sherwood to the meeting place? I need a nearby address or something, and I'll plug it into my GPS. Really want to paddle. So does Noah.

The GPS reading I get from Google Earth is 341916.92 N 933310.90W that should put you at the Hwy 70 Caddo River Bridge in Glenwood. We usually meet on the West side of the bridge, on the downstream side.
Coming from your direction; come down I-30 through Benton and on another 3 or 4 miles until you see the exit for Hwy 70. Follow Hwy 70 to Hot Springs. Before you get into Hot Springs, take the Hwy 270 Bypass (Mt. Ida) when you get around most of Hot Springs take the Hwy 70 exit (Glenwood) follow Hwy 70 about 30 miles to Glenwood and to the bridge.

Thanks you so much for your specific directions. I have been shuffling schedules just to make this trip happen for Noah and I. Caitlin has a birthday get-together with her best friend and can't make it, but she'd rather be with her friends anyway. Thank you so much for the directions. I haven't been on a river since last summer, and I NEED to get out in nature for a bit. Thanks for taking the time to direct an old friend.
