•••••Ok, I've had a Saturday free up. Originally I stated that these would start after Christmas, however, many new paddlers have not yet paddled a winter and I think it's a perfect time to teach a clinic about winter gear and rescue scenarios that pertain to cold paddling. I will also teach several other topics as well. You guys telle what topics you want to learn! This clinic will probably be longer than two hours since it's the first one. It will be in the Little Rock area. I'm searching for a church gym or large classroom. Once I know the exact place, I will let you know. Lunch will be provided. Those will be a ton of fun and a chance to meet others. If you want to learn or brush up on how to prepare for winter paddling, rescue, and survival, then mark your calendar for December 13 at 12:00pm. The course few will be $15 and right now I don't plan to limit the class size. If your interested please email me at clay@steepcreekrescue.com. This will give me an idea on class size. If not enough are interested, then we will postpone to a later date. Also if any instructors would like to help, you would be greatly appreciated!••
I'm planning on doing some short two hour clinics this winter. Probably after the holidays. These will be held either on an evening during the week or on a Saturday depending on student demand. These clinics will be good refreshers, but also for those who just don't have the time to take a full weekend course. The clinics will have topics such as knots and anchors, boat unpinning, trip planning and rescue organization, how to survive a night, live bait, etc. These will be dry land with maybe a pool session for live bait. It will be a minimal fee to cover use of facilities and maybe snacks. Thinking $10-$15. These will only happen if there is enough demand. Please comment if your interested and I'll start working on a schedule.
