ACA LEVEL 4 swiftwater rescue course
We had an excellent class of 10 students. We held it at Deadman's curve on the Spring River. Which, by the way, is a perfect site with strong jets and deep tongues running out into large eddys. It was 2 long days with SWR education packed in every hour of daylight. We challenged our students to mimic real world challenges that they face on the river. They all did very well. We had 3 teenage students who performed at excellent levels right beside the adults. Weather was perfect. Cool in the evenings and warm in the day. I'd like to thank Adam Williard for co instructing, his wife, Lisa, for photos, Gordon Kumpuris for assisting and taking photos, Doug Webber for assisting, and Gary Cooper and Doc Truebloodfor their help. I will not have any classes for the rest of the year, but plan to have some day refresher clinics after the first of the year. Now it's off to the Green Race to set safety!
