So the Super of the Super Moons is happening Aug 10, a Sunday.

So Aug 9 should be close to the same.
I am proposing to go old school on da Ford and have a nite surf party.
The "park" will be closed so we have to approach from upstream.
Parking on the South side, putting on and taking off at the bridge.
Moonrise is early so it will be over head around 11:30
Sunset is 8:20, I plan on being there around 8:30.
Gathering on the South side of the bridge to check gear.
Headlamps, ect...
If you are not comfortable with any aspect of this gathering of independent paddlers
then this might not be the float for you.
We are not breaking any laws by being there, but we may get some questions.
If you are not comfortable paddling Da Ford in daylight, this in not for you.
I will be there, hope you will too..........

Re: Going old school on Da Ford
Arrive Sunday at night? How bright will it be Saturday, oh great and powerful Moon Wizard? Saturday fits my work schedule way better. If Saturday will not be a good night, can you use your lunar powers to fix this? It sounds like a great deal of fun!
Re: Going old school on Da Ford
I want to arrive around 8:30 on Sat night.
Moon should be about 96% of what Sun night is.
IMPORTANT: You must access the river from the South side of the bridge. (map at below)
Do not go to the park.
The city will know we are there.
I will contact the city to let them know we are going to be there.
There is nothing illegal as long as we stay out of the park.
I would suggest bringing a glow stick and zip ties. A glow stick attached to the top of your
helmet will help keep everyone safe.

If I'm not mistaken we will have one more "super moon" next month. Isn't it wonderful to have rain and clouds in August.
