Colorado Conditions ? for June/July

Post by GN YAKN » Mon Jun 09, 2014 3:54 pm

Participating in a commercial trip on the Green River, Gates of Lodore section last weekend in June.

Guess it's going to be a little more "active" than the last time we were on it. I'm guessing it was around 2,000 cfs or less in 2012 and it's running just a wee bit higher than that right now. :wht:

Any of you wise old sages :myday" want to pipe in on level predictions for July 1? I'm guessing 10,000 CFS. Going to have to load up on some Depends!

Glad I'm gonna just be a passenger!

Never been on Lodore at really high levels - several decent levels and not that many issues
but
Split Mountain section will be big water and all that involves
But
It is so wide that the lines are easy see and run

I predict a great time for you and relaxing camps along beautiful canyon views!

I assume it will be very similar to the Yampa at higher flows... The named rapids became REAL rapids, but the rest flattened out. The Split Mountain run was no problem as long as you recognized where you were and pulled left soon enough!! Have a great time!!

Dave, check mountain buzz. There is a high water Lodore thread. We launch july 6 and Kelly predicts 3000cfs in Lodore then 5000 below Echo Park. They are blowing 8k out of the dam for a while tho.
