Float Bag Valves
Float Bag Valves
I need a couple of float bag valves. I can order them online for .50 to .80 apiece and pay ten times that for shipping and probably not get them soon enough, or, I know it's a long shot, but if anyone has any laying around or has bags that are beyond repair that I can cannibalize please let me know. Many thanks.

I might be your huckleberry!! Let me check when I get home but I'm sure I've a couple that can be cannibalized. HOw much of the material do you want me to leave around it?

I have a few spares but we haven't had lots of success glueing them on with contact cement. Need advice on better glue.

Instructions say don't use adhesive at all, just heat tube to remove old valve then moisten tube end and force new valve on. I did read that someone used Aquaseal with good results.

If using adhesive, Aquaseal would be my recommendation too

Re: Float Bag Valves
The valves I have from NRS are larger than the tubes on Chris Handleys Gaia(?) bags. So the valve would be on outside of the tube. And they aren't a perfect fit.
I haven't seen any other valves for sale. So if you come up with a solution, I'm sure Chris would like to know.

I see. Well, in that case I hear reconstituted truck stop kiwis are very effective.sig wrote:The valves I have from NRS are larger than the tubes on Chris Handleys Gaia(?) bags. So the valve would be on outside of the tube. And they aren't a perfect fit.

IV tube clamps are available at any medical supply place. Just fill up the bag and pinch off the tube.-M-

Ha! Roger, I sow the seeds of confusion wherever I go. Little Deuce and I have to visit Jeremy and he says he has some valves, so hopefully he can fix me up. If not I'll do something even if it's wrong. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.Roger wrote:Wrong valves.
