Buffalo Trip
Buffalo Trip
Looking for suggestions. Looking to take 2 families ( about 10 people ) on an overnight on the Buffalo on 5/17. Need help with what sections to run a current water levels. We have our own boats and shuttles. Will be fishing and moving at a leisurely pace. We have looked at Woolum to Bakers Ford. Want to cover a few miles, camp on a bar, then cover a few more miles to take out early afternoon Sunday. Need pretty sites and good fishing. Thanks.

Re: Buffalo Trip
If water permits... I'd put in at Woolum and camp at Peter Cave Bluff (above Baker Ford) then paddle on to either Tyler Bend or Hwy 65 the next day.

Bet your fishing would be better and I know you will see less boats above Baker. AR N's suggest is a great gravel bar for camping and seems there are others. We get a kick how much wilder the turtles are up there, bail off logs soon as they see you. Then after Baker they are used to boats.
You sure this is on the right channel?

I've had awesome luck fishing between Woolum/Baker's ford. That is also a fantastic section to paddle with several nice little ledges and rapids.
