Well, I was able to make it up the Fishers Ford to check it out for the 1st time. Here is my take on it.
Very Nice setup and when all the lanscaping and stuff is complete it will be a really nice place to hang out, play and have a picnic. Some reason I thought there were 3 drops but owe well. I guess the other one being counted is the little creeky side.
Looks like level was 3.2 on the guage. Top wave was glassy with a small foam pile. Great for slicing back and forth. Pulling off spins were real tricky in small boats. Guy in a bigger river runner/creekish boat spun much better than the small boats.
2nd drop is probably a bigger drop from top to bottom but the wave was small and irregular and unrideable. This drop seems like it could be worked on and made into something really dynamic with the amount of drop that is there.
Can't wait to take my daughter up there(6) to work on/introduce more to rapids. Will be a fansastic place to exercise and work on skills for novices.
Driving from fort smith is not bad at all. From 59 hwy exit off of I-40 it took me exactly 1hr driving 55 to 60ish. So Ft. smith 1:20. Best route would be up 59 and take a right on sawmill RD to fisher ford road its maybe 5-10 minutes tops from pavement.
