Dragover Sat. 4-19

Post by Jim Krueger » Fri Apr 18, 2014 4:27 pm

Several of us are heading back to Dragover in the morning. Our plan is to meet at the Dragover Camp Ground by 11am, then shuttle upstream another mile and a half to lengthen the trip a little.

Best Regards
Jim

Hi Jim, my name is Scott Fisher. Paddled with you a few years ago on Caddo so doubt you will remember me. I plan on being there with my wife. Never been to Dragover so will leave early.

Count me in! I haven't done Dragover in years. There are signs from the highway, right? And I do go to Mt. Ida, right?

Had a good run on the Cadron this afternoon in excellent weather and level a bit over 3'. Gear's already wet and still loaded and ready!

Lee,

Yes, go to Mt. Ida then on through town on Hwy 270, three or four miles north of Mt. Ida hwy 270 heads west and Hwy 298 splits off and heads north. Take Hwy 298 toward Sims. When you get to the intersection of Hwy 88, turn right on Hwy 88 and go about five miles, look for the Brown Forest Service sign that says Dragover, turn right on a gravel road for about two miles down to Dragover, look for the last sign directing you to turn right into the camp ground. see you there.

Best Regards
Jim

We had a very nice trip yesterday! Nine of us enjoyed the sunshine and higher level on the river, also got to explore some new shuttle scenery winding our way to the River Bluff access. There were quite a few others out on the river in small groups yesterday, including several folks from the Houston Paddling Club.
Many thanks to all of you for coming, good friends, and always great conversation :D

Best Regards
Jim

Thanks very much Karla, what a treat to have some video footage! I guess we were so busy hooking up boats that I never noticed you filming us

Best Regards
Jim
