Help with getting started

Hello, I have recreationally kayaked in the past but was looking to try and get into a little more than recreational. Any pointers or help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated

that would be WW School 2015, plenty of time to research the requirements(posted on ACC website). search this forum "getting started" will return some results. start saving your money. watch lots of video. gather some good used? gear.
Ouachita Outdoor Outfitters will be in little rock for demos soon. call them in advance to request a boat that will fit you.

Rec. School 2014 would be a good place to start. Teaches same skills as WW School on a little easier water.

Canoe School and Rec School are both great "jump starters" where you can pick up more in two days than some folks figure out in two years (or more).
But I also have to put in a good word for spending some summer weekends at our "park and play" spots. Rockport (near Malvern, Arkansas) for folks in Central Arkansas, and Fisher Ford near Siloam Springs Arkansas for folks closer to the NW corner of our state. Strike up some conversations with other boaters; most are eager to share!
