Anyone interested in a paddle from Caddo Gap (the Narrows) to the Glenwood Access (near cemetery)? Approx. 8 mile paddle. Paddled from the Caddo Gap "swinging bridge" to the Glenwood Access today with gauge at 6' and had a blast (thanks Luke and Holly). Hope to go on Tues but need help with a shuttle. Any help appreciated!!!!!

I live near the Caddo so I'm flexible with the meeting time. How about meeting at 11am at the Glenwood Access (near cemetery). If you want a different time, please let me know.

Thanks,
Cindy

Pam,

Thank you so much for the offer...that is so sweet. There's really no place I would rather be than on the Buffalo. But I need a little more notice to plan for an all day trip. I have an old wiener dog named Lulu (16yrs old) that I can't leave for too long without making some plans to leave her with someone. Her old bladder isn't what it used to be...(neither is mine...TMI). I'm planning on posting a lot this spring for Caddo trips so I hope I can paddle with you some day.

Thanks again.
Cindy

Cindy, I was thinking about the same trip. It was good to find it already posted, I'm in. Name your time or if you want to go below Glenwood that would be great too. Last tuesday was great as I'm sure this one will be just as nice.. BOB

Bob,

Let's meet at the Glenwood access at 11am (cemetery) and do the Amity paddle trip. That will be a first for me. If there is a more convenient time for you, let me know. Thanks for going with me.

Hey Cindy & Bob,

You all have a good trip, and do post a report later. I still haven't made it out on the Caddo yet this year, I'd thought about it this past weekend, but will be keeping an eye on the weather this week for a possible Caddo Gap run this Sat.
Vee shall see :D

Best Regards
Jim

Bob, see you at cemetery access in Glenwood at 11am.

Pam, hope you get to join us.

Jim, hope to see you and Marlo soon. Tell her hello. I want to paddle 300 miles this year. Most will probably be on the Caddo, so I'm sure I will bump into ya'll sometime this spring.

Just noticed this or I could've joined y'all.
I'll have to watch the board more closely.

It was a very nice float from Glenwood to Amity today. The early clouds kept us from getting too hot. The sun broke through near the take-out. Saw at least 1 eagle, maybe 2. Nice current. Thanks for going Bob.

Thanks for your report Cindy! In years past, we saw several Eagles on the various Upper Caddo sections. However, one year, we seemed to float the Glenwood to Amity stretch fairly often and saw a resident Osprey every time. The Osprey did like Ducks often do, pacing us just downstream before flying over our head's after awhile to head back upstream :D
I sure hope the river will be good this weekend for more floating opportunities.

Best Regards
Jim

One was definitely an eagle...the other may have been an Osprey...I need to check my book. Need to bring binocs next time I do that section. Lots of nice birding.
