Little MO minimums?

Post by BEubanks » Sun Mar 23, 2014 7:08 pm

Have a group wanting info on minimum flow required to make it down from Albert Pike. I know what the OWP listing says, but wondering if anyone knows how low you can go without having to drag a canoe/rec kayak.

I think you will drag a whole lot in the first 2 or 3 miles when approaching lower end of 4. Pinball will probably haves to be portaged. Honestly I'd stick with the lower section when below 4.5.

For floating as we know it, I won't disagree with 737. But I want to add, I've been told that boy scout troops and others routinely do it at levels that most floaters consider "too low". It all depends on what you're looking for, and whether or not you're OK with dragging at a number of shoals just to access the river, which is beautiful at any level.
