Was driving home from a meeting last night & caught this great piece on the radio from Ozarks at Large (KUAF 91.3 FM) about mapping the Ozark wilds with our very own Kristian Underwood (aka NW Chapter Pres). Very interesting, informative & was exciting to hear about some of the current mapping projects going on in our neck of the woods that will prove invaluable to those of us venturing into the great outdoors. Really can't wait to see the new map of the "mighty" Mulberry. Here is link if you want to take a listen, worth your time, oh & by the way....Thanks Kristian!!

The map press knows the date of the Jungle Boat Race, so they have it on the fast track to get it there in time. That's what we are shooting for. I'm doubtful it will happen, probably arrive on Monday after the race.
I was happy with the interview, but she did edit out a big section on the ACC. Oh well, I tried.

Re: Mapping the Ozark Wilds
kru,
don't feel bad about the interview process.
Over my working career I had the opportunity for a bunch of press interviews.
No matter how many time or how much I gave praise to certain parties, after the edit process what ever was printed or went on TV ended up being what the editors wanted. Many times way off base from what I hoped for during the interview process.
Eventually the company I retired from put on a two day clinic on how to respond to interviews. After many of us went thru the press interview skits and were put thru the ringer by the consultant, a corporate decision was made. We hired a experienced person to handle all interviews and press releases. Made a big difference in how the company looked in the TV news and press. When it comes to the news, the editing process controls how the interview will be seen by the public. This edit process is the main reason I have a very deep distrust of any news media really reporting just the facts.
