A year or two ago, an ACC member(s) encountered a pinned canoe and two stranded boaters just above Hemmed-in-Hollow on the Buffalo. It was winter and cold and both the boaters were wet. Apparently, the mysterious ACC member(s) realized the severity of the situation and advised the boaters to hike to safety via the Hemmed-in-Hollow trail. Because the stranded boaters were wet and cold, the ACC member(s) loaned the stranded boaters several fleeces, hats, and socks. The stranded boaters made to safety and returned the clothing to the park service. These clothes were given to me last weekend by the park service, and they asked if I can find their rightful owner. The only thing the stranded boaters mentioned was that they borrowed the clothes from an ACC member.
We don't know what chapter or anything like that. I don't know if it was one person or group that lent the clothes. If anyone knows anything about this story and who the rightful owners are, let me know. I can figure out a way to get the clothes back. If it is a chapter other then the Northwest, I will be at the Winter Board meeting and can hand the clothes over there.
Wish I had more information,

I say, and I intend it emphatically, let the river be.
