Looking for a coach/ teacher for GP

Post by Barry Thomas » Sat Jan 25, 2014 4:49 am

Hello. My wife and I are interested in learning greenland style paddling. We are looking for someone who can help us learn the proper technique for using a greenland paddle and coach us on greenland rolls. We are both experienced river paddlers, but looking to broaden our knowledge base and skill sets. Thank you in advance for any leads or suggestions you may have.

Barry,

I'll be of no assistance as I had to Google Greenland Paddling style to see what it was all about! I will be interested in following this post, however, to see if any other of us local yocals are up to speed!

Dan Daniel is familiar with Greenland style and probably knows of some video links or websites that would help you.
He has posted some links to Greenland style rolling vids in the past.
Don't know if any locals in this region actually know how to teach it.
It is very interesting! They have rolling contest that are out of this world!
I've seen video of a guy doing hand rolls with a big brick in his hand!!
It's awesome!
