East Fork White River Cleanup - April 26 2014
East Fork White River Cleanup - April 26 2014
This river is going to have some Beaver Watershed Alliance volunteers and river stewards come on out and help remove some of the trash that has ended up where it should not be.
This event came about because of a landowner wanting some help cleaning the river up. The cleanup will take place in April, and boats on the water will be very useful. Bring yourself, some friends, and your river craft of choice to this event if you would like!
If you have info you would like to share, or if you would like to help organize let me know.

Yep, yep. Still in progress on the planning aspect.
10-2 pm is the time frame. Bunch park in Elkins is the northern check-in and headquarters. Somewhere from St. Paul to Patrick is the other.
Of note, one time on a 4 mike float from Durham to bunch park we came across 4 different boats and 3 different paddles. A kayak, a John boat, and two canoes. I hear St. Paul to hwy 295 is trashed, or at least used to be. This is 1 section of the river I have never floated.

The Event Flyer is almost complete as are most of the plans. What this flyer does not portray is that there will be a cleanup check-in site at the Combs Baptist Church just off of hwy 16 in addition to the one at Bunch Park.
There will be water for this cleanup, the only question is how far south a person can find it.

I would be interested in helping with the cleanup, I work Saturdays but if I know ahead of time when it will be I probably can make it

Water is looking fine for a nice float on the East Fork tomorrow. Bring the family, some fishing gear, or a camera and make the cleanup even more of a fun recreational outing.
Check-in will be located at bunch park in Elkins and at the First Baptist Church in Combs AR, right near the intersection of hwy 295 and 16 in Combs.

The east fork of the white river from brashears to lake sequoyah is in the best shape of all portions of the upper white. Only 1200 lbs of trash removed!!! Thanks to the Boaters that made it out to help!
