Any good oxbow lakes?

Post by MissEllie » Sat Nov 23, 2013 7:56 pm

Have family in town... we did the Buffalo yesterday (burrrrrr). We want to do a good oxbow lake(s).

Any good ideas... we want a pretty place to just paddle about the bigger the better.

There are about a million oxbow lakes.  I don't know what part of the state you would like to paddle in but here are a couple of good places.

Hurricane Lake. The Three Sisters access is very good.

Another beautiful Lake is Grassy Lake in Bell Slough.  There is a marked trail from the boat Lane.

Hickson Lake is also a great area on Bayou Deview, "the very best!" with access to the water trail.

Good Luck!
