Progress on Fisher's Ford Park - OPEN

The biggest thing to happen to NWA paddling since winning the Mulberry river lawsuit is the creation of the Fisher's Ford Whitewater Park. Rumors began spreading a while back when the land on the North side was sold to Walton Family Foundation. All of our dreams have been confirmed over the past couple months as the plans were released and the land turned over to the City of Siloam Springs.
I have created this thread to help keep the ACC paddlers updated on the progress of the park. I will be posting the progress reports often. The construction crew from TSP environmental (http://www.tspenvironmental.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) are joining with REP (http://www.boaterparks.com/and" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Crist engineering (http://www.cristengineers.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) to make what I believe will be the number one attraction when the natural creeks are down.
Check back here for further progress reports......

This is the latest updates on the schedule.

Sept. 17 Equipment begins to arrive on site.
County road to the North should be closed about that time.
Use South road to access bridge put in if you want to paddle.
Stay in the river, don't go up on park land please.

Sept. 28 All access will be closed. Construction begins.
Please don't go down river beyond the bridge. If you want to see what is going on,
access the bridge from the South side and look from there. Most of the river
construction will be visible from the bridge.
The crew from TSP will be working 7 days a week sun up to sun down mostly. By
staying ON the bridge and not going down to the site we will not distract from the
progress being made.
However, the best way to keep up with the progress is this thread. The construction
crew will be taking daily progress photos and I will be reposting them here. Every few days
Bill Corley, the crew from Airlift films and myself will be videoing and updating this thread.

Thanks for your cooperation on this, River construction should take 3 weeks or so. We
shouldn't have to wait for the land construction to be completed before we can paddle. When it
is done and ready for play, I will post back up and get us an appointment to go check it out.

Post back here with any questions and I will try to get the answer for you.....

Dan and I were there surfin today and met a guy down from Kansas who said some folks up there thought it was a rumor. Now they know it's happening and are very excited. He had not yet heard of the OKC park. So now he's doubly exited.-M-
