Roll classes in Hot Springs/ LR?
Anyone run the classes or is it just show up and work on your own. I just moved to Arkansas and I'm new to kayaking, but formerly a colorado river guide. Want to learn how to roll so I can take my boat back to Colorado with me in the summers. Can someone hit me back t_jackson2003@hotmail.com

In Little Rock you are in luck, as we have free access to the UALR pool 2x per week (most weeks...sometimes it's closed to us due to swim meets...always check this message board sometime on Monday/Tues each week someone will post if this week's sessions are open).
Here's the details on the UALR pool sessions (rules, directions, etc.)

However, note that this is open pool time, not a formal class. There are quite a few folks who would be willing to meet you up there to teach you to roll, but it's best to specifically post and ask if someone can come to teach you when you can go. I'm willing to do so, but if I'm super busy at work I often won't go to the pool unless someone specifically has said they are looking for help. So best to ask and know that you will have someone there to work with you.
Also, this time of year while the weather is so nice there's not as many folks going to the pool, particularly on Saturday afternoons. Now once it gets dark early and gets cool out, then the pool sessions really get hopping. This time of year, many people wouldn't mind working with you at the Rockport ledge (Ouachita Whitewater Park in Malvern), but would be hard pressed to go to an indoor pool when they can be surfing at the ledge! So in fact, if you want to meet some boaters and get some help, just head out to the Rockport ledge this afternoon! I'll be there probably around 3 or 4pm and I'm sure there's several boaters there right now! While the conditions are maybe not as good as working in clear pool water, who can resist being outside this time of year!?!? Don't be afraid to just introduce yourself to any boaters who are out there.
Cheers,
Heather aka Lupe

Oops I hope it wasn't confusing what I wrote. I won't be at the ledge until 4.
