Fishers Ford access and availability
Was wondering what the situation was at Fishers Ford. With the upcoming changes, where do you put in now. At the bridge, or elsewhere? Haven't been there for a while and interested. I was fortunate having the same last name as the previous owner and could drive to the Ford when I would teach both Girl and Boy Scouts intro WW canoeing. Didn't hurt to bring a couple of dozen cookies my wife made. Appreciate any information. Have some more Scouts and leaders that want to play there.

The property is now owned by Siloam Springs.
Trespass with trepidation.
Access is always available at the bridge.
Walk back up the river left side...

Re: Fishers Ford access and availability
I spoke with the group of people (with the city of siloam springs) in charge of working on the play park while I was out there yesterday and they seem very excited about the project and to work with the paddlers. As far accessibility I parked in the normal spot by the bridge and they watched me and another friend walk through the field and carefully slide our boats under the fence and pass through the barb wire with nothing more than a wave and a smile to us, so be respectful and don't tear the fencing up like a lot of people have done. They had the official plan for the park with them and were happy to show it off, especially to kayakers enjoying the area. They told me their pre-construction meeting was to be held at the end of next week and the project should start within a week or two after that. The company doing the work was given 120 days to complete construction and they are expecting completion sometime in December. They have big plans for the area including biking trails along the river and in the field, 2 or 3 port-a-johns, a changing area, a rock climbing wall for the kids, 30-40 parking spots, as well as solar powered lights for the parking lot...I spoke to them about getting the ACC involved in clean up and anything in general the group could do to help out and they seemed excited about our enthusiasm, the gentleman who seemed to be in charge told me he had checked out the website and that as soon as they got to a point that our help would be relevant he would post something on here. (He seemed more concerned with high water flows and clean up after episodes like that than general maintenance)

Excellent. Looking forward to the project completion. Some of us Tulsa area folks will come help out when the time comes.
