8/10 Woolum to Gilbert

Post by MissEllie » Fri Aug 09, 2013 10:19 am

Buffalo is running 6 foot - we are thinking about Woolum to Gilbert tomorrow morning.

If anyone would like to share or do a shuttle with us give me a call.

As of right now the river is running 6.50 Woolum to Gilbert - right now is 10:30 Friday night.

We plan to put in at Woolum & out at Gilbert. We have done this trip many times at this level & it is a good trip - nice & relaxed.

Feel free to call or text if you would like to join us. We can do our own shuttle or share the fee for one. We will be coming from the Conway area with no real set time yet... just load & go in the morning so we can work with your schedule. We will be in the truck with two kayaks so if you want to meet us in Conway or Morillton we can add another kayak to our load.

Have you thought about an overnighter?
Woolum to Gilbert is 21 miles. Not much time to stop and smell the roses or visit Richard's Springs.

We always have a relaxed paddle and at that level do not have to work that hard.

We enjoy the longer distances and I do not think we would over night unless doing 30+ miles.

About to load and go.... see you on the river.

Note to Self: When the river says upper runnable double check that flood stage is not close behind. Took the kayaks for a nice ride.... could not put in. Park service shut it down... But the day was not a total loss. Stopped & had lunch in Marshal - GREAT home made pie

Will try again...
