Buffalo canoe

Post by rduren » Wed Jul 03, 2013 11:23 pm

I have to relate a story or rather a warning about a Buffalo canoe. The buffalo river is a might experience to float in that it is breath taking for its beauty and God's creation shows.

With that being said; I would have to think a Buffalo canoe would be the perfect choice. Well I think it is but like many things go, there are things that just happen. My Buffalo canoe was in need of repair. I did find out that my canoe was probably a "second" and not of the best quality but that is not what this is about.

My situation was to find someone to repair a broken gunwale and since they are produced in Jasper Arkansas, what better place, right? Well I found out that not to be the case. I state this to give warning to someone looking at a Buffalo canoe. When I called, I spoke with a couple different people; one was willing to be helpful but the other was one of the rudest people I have ever encountered. I was clearly told I would not get a gunwale from them and not to ever call back. Again, I state that this as not to be vindictive but a warning about Buffalo canoes or at least service after a sale.

I got the same kind of reception a couple of years ago when I approached them about buying a canoe. Their heritage is outfitting liveries and I just think they really have no interest in anything else, especially dealing with John Q. It be what it be my brother. Lots of good boats out there. I ended up buying a MR Explorer from the super cool guys at OMTC. First new boat I ever acquired and probably the best retail experience I've ever had. I'm not saying everyone should take down a brand new boat (generally not my style), but if one wants to that's an outstanding place to do it.
You come too.

Having gone to blows with old man Gordon about a decade ago, I concur that customer service is not their strong point. In full disclosure don't refer to a male employee as "Nancy", because it seems to be quite the catalyst.
Dr Ray Stantz: Personally, I liked the university. They gave us money and facilities, we didn't have to produce anything! You've never been out of college! You don't know what it's like out there! I've *worked* in the private sector. They expect *results*
