My wife and I would like to float this...we own a Jackson Kayak Cruise and a Native Slayer 12. What would yall think about having a 2.5 yo little girl in the kayak for this float?

Chris,

You all are welcome to float along with us. This Sat. looks not to be quite as hot as today is shaping up, however it will still be plenty warm but the river is quite cool. We usually take a dip at the put-in to start, then more swimming at a nice gravel bar about a third of the way through the trip, and a final gravel bar stop just above the take-out. If you think your little one will be happy out on the river for three hours or so, that will be more than fine. There are really no rapids along most of the trip that would overwhelm the kayak. However, the last rapid, at the take-out, does have the potential to swamp kayaks without splash skirts, this rapid can be easily walked around if needed though.

Best Regards
Jim

Team Deuce will be at a family reunion in Bethesda, otherwise at least two of us would be there. Told my main mostest floating buddy about it. Haven't heard back, but I wouldn't be surprised...... Y'all have a great time.

Bryan,
Thanks for your note, but I'm sorry you all couldn't join in the fun today. As it turned out, Marlo couldn't either as she didn't feel very well. Today did turn out to really be a nice day on the river though, the temps were so nice, and I think we had a tail wind, which we usually do not have. Lots, and lots of folks on the river today, and all pretty well behaved :D I would like to add my ongoing thanks to ny fellow/and gal ACC paddlers out there! always right there to help as needed! especially when people, and their gear get separated at the Ledge no matter who they are. It was truly a fun day!

Best Regards
Jim
