branson area waterways

Post by James » Sun Jun 23, 2013 4:29 pm

Hi all, my wife is wanting me to camp near Table Rock Lake near Branson next weekend and I need help! I am not particularly fond of just hanging around campsites or lakes, so I am wondering if anyone knows of ANY nearby kayaking runs that we can take advantage of? I understand that whitewater is scarce right now, so any flowing water is better than none. Or just a play spot anything! I'm desperate here!

The North Fork of the White has always been a favorite of mine. Its fast without having any major rapids and it just west of Branson on Highway 160. Its about an hour away from Branson. There are many outfitters along the stream if you need to buy a shuttle. But you can expect heavy use on the weekends. BOB

If we have water Bull creek is probably the most popular creek run around this area. There is a playspot that's called shady rapids but just like anything else we need water for it. It does have a usgs gauge on it and you usually need a minimum of 350cfs and 4ft gauge height for it to be runnable. If it gets to be runnable feel free to give me a call I can almost guarantee someone will be running it.
There are other creeks such as Roark, Flat, Turkey, Fall but like I said We need water!
Finley, James, or North Fork would probably be my choices to paddle right now.

Feel free to give me a call if you need info on access points. Also just curious on where you are going to be camping on Table Rock? (I as well will be camping on table rock starting probably Thursday all the way through till the weekend after July 4th)
