One of my friends had one of these solo WW canoes' new' back in the eighties. I tried it once and really liked it more so than my old homemade kayak for it's stability. Anyone got any experiences, are they still available?

No experiences with them myself but I do see them for sale in various conditions monthly. Dagger doesn't make canoes any more (I think 2002 was the last year). I bought one of their last Tupelos on clearance some years ago and sold it this past winter. There is a website (or facebook page?) of Dagger canoe enthusiasts and they ferret out the boats, discuss them and their outfitting. I'll give you a link if I can find it.

Edit again: I found the facebook page. You might ask some of these guys their impressions or help locating one.

I noticed in that link that it was stated to be a 1998 production but the HIN plate says that it was made in April of 1994 (DAQ13301A494). Last three digits are supposed to be manufacture date on U.S. canoe hulls. I dunno.

I have one in mint condition. You can't buy it, but I'll let you paddle it around at SurfnTurf. Prophet will buy the next one that comes up for sale.

I'll add a "me too" to Mark's comment about wetsuits with sleeves. They're awful. They heat up quickly, they restrict freedom of movement quite a bit, and I've found that when I'm already tired, the extra effort required to move around in a sleeved wetsuit is a real negative.
