FYI

I pulled up the gage at Hwy. 84 in tabular form and saw that the water level at 8:30 last night was 3.71. At 8:45 the level was 8.44 feet, a mere 4.73 feet rise in those 15 minutes.

What makes it even more shocking is that the starting level was too low to paddle from 84 down to 12000. Believe me when I say you would not want to be on it at 8.44 feet.

More storms are in the forecast for today (Friday) and Saturday. I'm going to try to get a run in from Albert Pike to 84 Sunday or Monday and will post as things develop (or settle down).

I'd like to run with you on Sunday, IF it settles down, as I'll be in the rec boat with the huge, open cockpit. What level do we need to watch for?

We got on it at Albert Pike at about 6.5 this morning. It was a great level. Fairly pushy with strong eddy lines and several strong hydraulics (that could be missed). We could see the high water line and it was HIGH. It would have washed out the campsite again had people been camping there. I drove up to the falls before we put in and it was blasting through there.
