Caddo on Saturday

Post by Jim Krueger » Fri May 24, 2013 9:13 pm

The river levels are falling presently, but I think we'll try and get in another trip from the Narrows to Glenwood tomorrow. I'm sure it will be a day of 'just enough' water, and plenty of riparian entertainment :D

Our plan is to meet under the downstream side of the Hwy 70 bridge at Glenwood about 11am. to visit for a moment then set shuttle.

I'm retiring for the evening now, but will check back in the morning before heading that way.

Best Regards

Wish I could join you Jim! We're hosting a baby shower at our house today or I would be there!

Six of us paddled the Caddo today and it was just a very nice day! After a day of rest tomorrow, maybe a little more floating in order for Monday. Maybe Dragover?

Best Regards
Jim

Ann,

I'm sorry I didn't think to visit with you earlier about our trip yesterday because it was a very nice day. At present, I don't see much interest in the Dragover float so I will withdraw that suggestion. I think Miss Marlo probably has had enough river-time yesterday, especially in lieu of the fact we'll have quite a bit next weekend at Rec. School. So, I personally will either join in ' unannounced 'with a Remmel trip tomorrow, if I feel like it, or maybe just head out solo on the Saline in hopes of the Bream biting.

Best Regards
Jim

Jim,
I've wanted to try out the Caddo for the past two years. However, it's peak is always during my most hectic school schedule. We are officially done next Friday. (I know that most of you will be at Rec School). According to your past experience, is the Caddo's "flotability" over for the season, or is there a chance that levels can come back up with rain? I know that it is one of your favorite stretches, so I suspect that it's full of history and beauty. So far, we just haven't been able to make it happen. Sure hope to see you all soon.
Thanks,
Sandy

Sandy,

So far this year, the rains have been fairly nice to keep the streams going better than last year. We may be blessed with a bit more after the Rec. School, and if so, we'll certainly head back to the Caddo. The best thing will be to watch for any posts for trips there and chime in, and do join us. Thanks for your note!

Best Regards
Jim
