Hometown Throwdown #1 June 22
Hometown Throwdown #1 June 22
Its that time of year folks! For the first Throwdown of the Season, I'm gonna let you guys decide the format. If all those who want to try their hand at racing...Get some gates, lets plan a short course and do head to head battles in conjunction with our normal "freestyle" format.
If the gates and racers don't show, then we'll just do freestyle, but I'd love to see some head to head racing!@!!!!

In the past gates were strung across the river and a course was set at the ledge utilizing upstream moves and ferries to move between the gates, slolam style

So, here it is.
The ALL CALL for volunteers to help set up the race course for the first Hometown Throwdown on June 22. The Throwdown will start around 2 p.m., So volunteers should be at the ledge around 10:00 a.m. to help set up and secure gates. Bring anything that you think may help. Ropes, biners, etc...
It would be great to get a plan of attack together before we get there...

U think we could get a cable tight enough from the side walk somewhere to the big rock 3/4 the way across?? Maybe with some of those climbing cams ????

Re: Hometown Throwdown #1 June 22
It doesn't have to be super tight, it'll sag no matter what you do. The strings that are attached to either end of the gate "trolley" keeps it in place and the two poles are held up by their own strings.

Where do you live, Gannon? If near central Arkansas, we should get together for beer and pizza and discuss/demo what was done in MO for their race.

Just north of center ridge. 15 miles south of Clinton. There was some wire with the gates but it's little. Don't think it will hold multiable gates span that far. We need some small cable!!!! Anybody have the hook up on it????

Is there a web page or anything that someone could post that shows info about this? With me being somewhat new to boating I've never seen or heard of this but sure would like to go and see everything!
