I haven't seen this posted thought I'd share,

Representative David Branscum decided to put together a two-day program to educate people on the Buffalo National River, farming and culture in the Heart of the Ozarks, and the hog farm at Mt. Judea. The meeting will be headquartered in Marshall on Tuesday, May 21, and Wednesday, May 22.

The state representative said he has invited members of the state House and Senate committees and has received confirmation that representatives of Cargill, Gov. Mike Beebe, Attorney General Dustin McDaniel, U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor, U.S. Sen. John Boozman and others will attend.

He said Buffalo National River superintendent Kevin Cheri has been invited to address the group at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, in the Marshall High School gym. After his remarks, Branscum said state Rep. Kelley Linck is lining up canoes for a float trip from Tyler Bend to Gilbert. The group will be treated to a fish fry at Gilbert sponsored by the Farm Bureau.

At 9 Wednesday morning, Branscum hopes to have L.C. Ratchford talk about his buffalo farm and another farmer talk about his operation. The group then will board buses to tour the hog farm and meet its owners. That will be followed by a meal at the Ozark Cafe in Jasper sponsored by Cargill Meats.

He said the educational trip will end when the group returns to Marshall.

Sounds sorta one sided (except for the BNR super) what with Big Ag sponsoring two meals. I thought we paid our congress critters a salary that they could spend it on things like lunch and dinner.

Yo Sig, I'll at least give the BRWA some props for taking another baby step towards being more balanced by putting this outing info on their website. The only other info that I have seen on there that provided any balance was the FSA response to the 45 points of contention made by the NPS.

Granted, I don't look at that website much since it contained so much one sided, extreme, and even mis-information that it turned me off so bad I did not waste my time looking at info.

This is where balanced info is so powerful - it can potentially appeal to so many more folk, and does not risk appearance of bias or false info which can turn potential advocates into undecided's, abstainer's, or opponents.

Kudos to BRWA for having a smidge of balance to their website, now I feel like I can check it out for the 4th time.

Note first time was when I was excited about their formation before I saw the extreme and misinformation, 2nd time was when I accidentally went there after finding the FSA response on Internet, and 3rd time was when I just checked this out.

Once again, kudos to BRWA for sharing/hosting a tad more balance.

And, of note balance can rapidly lead to more buy-in which is necessary to protect the river both short and long term.
