No boat? No worries! We have a limited supply for your use for free!
There is something for everyone! Whether you are looking for an outdoor adventure with your family or have a competitive spirit that can only be quenched with a 1st-place finish — you will have a blast at the 5th Annual Saline River Canoe Race.
This year, the race proceeds go to Second Chance Youth Ranch, which exists to provide abused, neglected and at-risk youth a caring home while actively working to resolve turmoil in the youth’s life, restoring the individual and reunifying the family.
The race is approximately 4 miles from Peeler Bend to Lyle Park. The teams are two people per canoe, 18 years old and up unless accompanied by an adult. Registration fee of $50 per team includes: canoe rental, paddles, safety vests, and an official 2013 Saline River Canoe Race T-Shirt. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be awarded trophies and cash prizes: $200, $150, and $100 per team respectively. The team with the most creative name will receive a bonus prize.
Join us to cheer on the competitors and don’t miss the best part — the after-party: free food, entertainment, games for the kids, and new this year — homemade boat race!

Why such a late notification on this? I kept checking the web site and it never was updated until recently. Maybe I was looking in the wrong place
Anyway wife and I wanted to have a go at this but not sure if we can get it in our schedule, sure gonna try!

Looks like everyone who participated in the float had a great time on the water and after. ACC booth was set-up with brochures available for those interested. I unfortunately got volunteered by Cowper to pic up trash on the other side of the river which I though would be a short trip. I should have know better, by the time we returned to the take-out most everything was finished by but we did end up hitting La Hacienda for food and drinks. Plus we got a fair amount of trash picked up including 2 tires. It was a very good day.
Thanks Mike and Tonya for putting it on!

Maggie! I got you off the river more than six hours before sunset. Do you know how rare that is????

Trash: Get a little every time you go!
