Big Piney: one less piece of human debris
There WAS an old one-man "bass buggy" on river left below the Mother. Scott Akers and I got it off the bank and turned it upside down (Cyndy's suggestion) as the real bottom was busted. I got on top of the upside down craft and managed to get the thing down to Long Pool. It broke in two, top separated from bottom, at some point. I continued to paddle the bottom which had styrofoam and the other section floated, with Scott's help, down to the take out.
Cyndy's first time "for real" rowing, kinda necessary since I jumped ship. She did great. Super day on the Piney!

I meant human-created debris, not human origins. Sorry to let you down.

SCOTT AKER??? he is still alive??? whoa..... I can hear him now "weeeellll guys, I think we can get this thing down the river" (in a real messed up newton county accent.) You know here carries a 9mm and half gallon of whiskey with him in the back of his boat. No lie, I could not believe it until I saw it myself.

Don't know about the contents of his boat but, yeah, real alive from downtown Pelsor. He pretty much got the bottom half of the boat down to Long Pool after the boat came apart.anthony wrote:SCOTT AKER??? he is still alive??? whoa..... Remind me to "buy" a couple of cold "dranks" for you after that little Cowperesque recovery and removal!

Y'all should have kept it and glued it back together so you could paddle it down the tot. Or would you row rather than paddle one of those??

I'll take you up on that drank. Very Cowperesque. Is that a word? It was quite the day. Note to self: Always take a paddle with you in the rowing rig, you never know when you'll find something to paddle out. (Cyndy's idea: she's so practical)Roger wrote:Remind me to "buy" a couple of cold "dranks" for you after that little Cowperesque recovery and removal!

The paddle in the raft thing was something that was mentioned about having when I first started oaring rafts especially if you had a passenger in front. Never knew when that single blade might alter the facts of the trip report when it came to raft carnage.
And you're welcome.

It was pretty comical. the part I was sitting on just kept caving in. If not for the foam, it would have sank and I'd been a swimmin'.
