9:00 AM Location ADEQ Building
5301 Northshore Drive, North Little Rock, AR 72118-5317
(501) 682-0744
This meeting will include a proposal by ADEQ Director Teresa Marks for an improved public notification process for CAF applications.
A BIG PROBLEM was that the notification used had the process so hidden that the general public (that is us) did not find out about the pig farm until far into the process.
In this day of instant communication there has to be a better way. Come make your voice heard & hold those people with control accountable.
If you can not come in person send a letter or e-mail. The web site is: http://www.adeq.state.ar.us/Default.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

AND PAY MORE ATTENTION FROM NOW ON.
Be engaged from hence forth, protect many waterways and help others learn more about how they can get involved in doing the same.
Water quality protection is a team effort, best achieved by using the watershed approach. http://water.epa.gov/type/watersheds/approach.cfm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
watershed approach http://www.uaex.edu/Other_Areas/publica ... A-9526.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And.....here is an example of a recently created watershed management plan http://www.irwp.org/water-quality-monit ... ased-plan/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; in a watershed where the farmers and environmental activists work together. Farm Bureau with The Nature Conservancy Sierra Club with the Simmons... not that TNC is activist, but I'm just sayin' it's pretty neat for them to work with the farmer, and the integrator.
Maximum brainpower by the fine leaders of all these diverse interests hashing it out, coming up with a plan, and actually watching water quality improve all the time.

"The challenge goes on. There are other lands and rivers, other wilderness areas, to save and to share with all. I challenge you to step forward to protect and care for the wild places you love best"
