missouri Whitewater championship
Heading north(that's a new one) for the missouri Whitewater championship. Anyone else interested in joining? I know Jason Murrill will be there, the Signorille family, myself, and Steve Gabbard. I say the ACC should invade MO! If anything, just to freak out the locals. Because we all know, no one parties like ACC members!
Regardless if your racing, helping with safety(there's a dire need for safety help by the way), or rooting on the compititors.... It'll be a blast either way!!!!!

We'll be there. We helped hang 21 wires across the river on Saturday and then Crash spent 90 minutes or so in an informal clinic learning how to drive her borrowed Dancer.
Fun folks, about 40 of them showed up to setup and then float down a pretty stretch of river.
They had a keg and party on Saturday night for volunteers. The funny part was when they told us "let us show you what we learned from Arkansas boaters..." and then rolled a blow log into place.

I do recall a log when I was up there several years ago...

The Silver Mine campground has lots of spots and is an easy walk from the campground to the group camp (5 mins). There weren't any other campers when we were there last weekend.
The takeout (at low water "D bridge") is a 2 minute drive downhill.
$10/site/night. No water at the campground. Pit toilets.
We'll be in a maroon Subaru Forester, stop by and say hi.

We just showed up last weekend. We camped at the group site the first night but then were warned of the party to happen on the second night so we moved to the campground and a host came by while we were setting up and took our money. There is a self-pay station as you come in the campground.
BTW, I'm referring to the "upper" campground not the one down by the river. Might be called "summit" or similar.

Ok. Sounds like a plan. That's what we will do. If there's any chance they let you take 2 spots would you pay them and I pay you when we get there? Scouts honor! They may not let you though. Also do u happen to have coordinates or directions?

Directions to the slalom course can be found here: http://goo.gl/maps/fUj0V
Spectators may be required to park at a different parking lot due to lack of space in the lower parking areas. See this page http://missouriwhitewater.org/competition/mwc for more info on the event, parking maps, camping info, etc.

Clay... will you need a campsite for Friday and Saturday night or just one of those? I think we'll be the first up there from Arkansas and we'll stake out a couple of campsites. $10/site/night and I assume you can put at least two tents on a site.
I'll PM you my digits though service at the race course is crappy, tolerable at the campground and non-existent at the takeout.

Some of us from KC will be headed down tomorrow too. Should be fun. I talked to some folks today that said there should be plenty of camp sites tomorrow night. Hope to meet you guys.

I've called eleventy hundred times this week to reserve sites and haven't been able to reach anybody at the campground. We're just going to show up and hope things work out.

Look for us josh. We should have an acc banner up. And Aly, I'm sure when they see a group of arkies they'll abandon their sites for more peaceful surroundings.
