Meto Bayou Urban Canoe Trail

Post by Paddlegal » Tue Mar 05, 2013 6:17 pm

:hammer2: The Reeds Bridge Battlefield Society is planning an annual cleanup of the walking trail and the canoe trail.
April 6th, 2013, from 10:00 a.m.To 2:00 p.m. :hammer2:

If you can participate please contact Jack Danielson at 501.985.3670 or me at thepaddlegal@gmail.com to let us know. This is a short cleanup, not all day. Hope I can get some of Debo's and Cowper's Mudpuppies to help out! :kayak:

3 Canoes that belong to the city of Jacksonville will be available to borrow. I'm also putting up my :myday" boat, a 10 ft. perception prodigy, a paddle, and 2 lifejackets up for borrowing. We'll meet at the Reeds Bridge Homestead Site Off Hwy 161. The canoe trail has three put-in points.

Trash bags will be provided and trash will be dropped off at the homestead site on hwy 161.

If you get off the I440 loop at Rixey and turn right, just continue until you see the homestead site on your right. Or you can exit at Redmond Rd., turn right and come to Hwy 161, turn right again and the Homestead is not too far down on your left.

There will be 50 History Channel t-shirts up for grabs. (For those t-shirt collectors out there, I know who you are.)

Hope to see you there! I'm sure there will be plenty of empty beer cans for all.
I've felt the touch of healing hands, neath the willow trees and birch, cause the water's my religion, and the river is my church. Kenny
