2-16 stream team Riparian Restorations Crooked Creek & BUFF

Post by Half Ton » Tue Feb 05, 2013 9:29 am

From Stream Team Coordinator Dave Evans

Morning All,

Well it’s that time of the year again….tree and shrub planting time that is. This event will be on Saturday, February 16th starting at 10:00 AM.

I have about 600 trees and shrubs that I need to get in to the ground at two different sites. The first place we’ll work is on Crooked Creek in Boone County near the community of Harmon.

The other site is at the Ponca Elk Center in Ponca near the Buffalo River. As always I will provide some sandwiches from Subway, so please let me know how many of you might be planning to show-up.

DIRECTIONS:

Harmon job site – From Harrison - Hwy 412/65/62 east toward Mt Home/Marshall for approximately 6 miles to Hwy 62 toward Mt Home, turn left on Hwy 62 (east) toward Mt Home, go approximately 6 miles to the Harmon Volunteer Fire Dept, turn left and go approximately 1 ½ miles to turn into job site…I will have someone at the Harmon Volunteer fire Dept and at the gate to the job site to direct folks in

Ponca Elk Center – From Harrison – Hwy 7 south to Hwy 43 (still within Harrison), Hwy 43 south to Ponca (approximately 16 miles), Elk Center is on the left just past the Ponca Outdoor Center new building From Fayetteville area – Hwy 412 east past Marble to Hwy 21 south, Hwy 21 south through Kingston to Hwy 74 east (approximately 17 miles), left (east) on Hwy 74 to Hwy 43 north (approximately 5 miles), left on Hwy 43 approximately ½ mile to Elk Center (on right)

I have a bunch of shovels and other implements of destruction, however if you have any you could bring it would probably help us be sure that we have enough.

Thanks for your support in this endeavor and I hope to see you there in a couple of weeks.
