OK, shameless plug here, but I just learned that Arkansas' own Laura Timby entered a photo in the American Rivers 2012 River Clean Up Photo Contest.

It's photo #3; don't be fooled by the misspelled name.

I have to admit I love the photos of the man with the tractor tire and the woman with the shopping cart too, but I also want Laura to get some recognition for the multiple clean-ups she helps organize on the Buffalo River every year, so she got my vote.

I think I saw somewhere that voting might end on 1/22, but I'm not sure if that means 12:01 AM 1/22, or 11:59 PM 1/22, or what time zone, so play safe and try to vote today!

Gotta vote for our Buffalo River clean up, but I also really like the one with the gal who's got an entire shopping cart in her canoe, and the ones with the little kids taking part are also great to see.

With the many cleanups our paddlers are involved in - whether formal organized days like the Red River or Lee Creek, or the many more spontaneous "hey let's get this" efforts, I think we should keep track and have MANY cool submissions from Arkansas for 2013.

Go Laura! And thanks for what you do for the Buffalo.
