Trying to take raft on its maiden voyage tomorrow and catch some fish. Was wondering if anyone knew of a shuttle service in the area or perhaps could work out a shuttle with someone else going. Planning to hit the road early in the a.m. and hoping they are generating some. Releases seem to be unpredictable and not a guaranteed thing, so any beta on that would be much appreciated. WE NEED RAIN.

Rim Shoals will do shuttles, at least that's what they told me in September. White Buffalo resort at Buffalo City will if you stay there, worth a call.
We took a 14 with 4 adults from Cotter to Rim Shoals at minimum release, no problems, just pay attention. Lots of fish, no big un's though.

Tim, how much travel time did you need on that float?

About 3 hours(very little wind and mostly down stream) . If we had fished it hard, could have taken almost all day. I need an anchor to drop off the back and hold in deep pools or in a shoal to step out and wade.
Rim Shoals to Ranchette (west side take out) would be a great float, too, maybe 5 miles. You'd float past Crooked Creek's mouth. The ledgy shoal below Rim might be tough at low water, but I bet you could walk the raft down it.

Scott, how'd the trip go? Are you the Scott I know from Harrison, by the way?

Yeah, we did end up going with our own shuttle. Wildcat to Cotter with a release of about 3500. Caught about 20 trout over 4 hours between two people. First time rowing. We were headed back to hitchhike shuttle the following Sunday but they never turned the water on, luckily we were headed for dogpatch anyway. Pretty easy day trip from FV especially with dinner on ice.

Other than being able to go back up stream and fish a pool/hole again, I really like the raft over a john boat. Good to know there are still some fish in the river.
