Lil Mo 2+ generators

Post by Lupe » Mon Oct 22, 2012 11:28 pm

Okay, I'm starting to think either SWEPCO or the Corps is reading this message board!

After sampling 3 generators all summer, and then 2 generators at the end of summer, and then even 3+ generators a couple weeks ago, and having speculated here on these very message board pages that perhaps the most IDEAL generation level might be something like 2.5 generators....

Ladies and gentlemen, they are releasing about 2.5 generators starting at 2pm this week. And we've got three more days of 80 degree days. Actually an hour later at 3pm the generation will bump up to the more traditional 3 generators, but I'm really keen to see how 2+ fills in at our favorite play spots.

I'm looking REALLY hard at a Wednesday or Thursday mid week trip. Will need for my corporate overlords to cooperate some for this to work out for me. I'll update if I develop definite plans. Others feel free to post here to organize your own trip...

Cheers

I'm gonna try and go Friday. I realize that's the worst day weather wise, but I'm out if town till Wednesday and going to the Chili Peppers concert Thursday. If anyone is interested Friday, please post up.

I haven't even looked at the weather yet to see what days might be best, but I have to say the prospect of a "test" float at a different level is enough to get me off the couch and down to the river again!

Thursday would be better for me, since I could still make the pool session Wednesday night, but all things are negotiable...

EDIT: I should have looked at the weather first.
Wednesday, mid 80's sunny, no chance of rain
Thursday, low 80's, partly cloudy, 20% chance of rain, most likely moving in later in day (if they miss by a few hours, it will cloud up and rain while we're on the river...)
CONCLUSION: Pool sessions are fun - but real rivers trump pool sessions. My vote is for Wednesday (tomorrow) if that works for others!

Heather,
This week looks a little ify for me! I won't know until the night before if I can go, however if you can't get a two vehicle group together I would be more than happy to drive up and help with a shuttle as its only 25 minutes to the Narrows.
This goes for anyone all week. Just let me know.

Well Friday is no good for me now. I was just informed that I am going pick pumpkins with my daughter Friday. Much better plan anyway. Lol! Good news is that starting Thursday, I'm off for 30 days of vacation! So if anyone needs a partner to paddle with, send me a message.

I'm pretty sure I'll be going on Thursday. Can meet in Little Rock if others want to carpool! Sounds like we'll have a small group. 1:30 or so at the take out to set shuttle, or if folks want to meet in Little Rock we can meet up about 11:15.

Those rain chances don't move in til evening on Thursday. I predict a mighty fine day on the river.

What time would you expect to be back in LR if the Thursday trip happens?

Thursday trip is a go. Cowper's doing me a BIG favor and picking me up at my house in LR so that I can leave my car at the shop. If anyone wants to carpool, we could pick up others off I-30 just past the I-30/I-430 intersection at the church there. However, we'll be going out to dinner in Murfreesboro after the river, so I wouldn't count on getting back to Little Rock until 9/9:30pm or so. If others want to go but need to skip social hour over Mexican food, you might want to arrange a separate car pool!

Post up if anyone wants to arrange for a pick up south of Little Rock (with late return)!

I think we have going: myself, Cowper, Mitch, BHK OKie, Luke, Clay? (couldn't tell if you are off Thursday and can come, or off starting Thursday but can't come), Phil - reconsider? Any others?

I would like to carpool from LR and can stick around for dinner. 11:15 still the time? Where is the church exactly too? I've driven through there a thousand times but can't place it off the top of my head.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. Things piled up on me tomorrow and I will have to miss. I wish I could go, but I'll have to take a rain check. Y'all have fun!

Luke, we can meet you at the Geyers Spring Baptist Church at 11:15.

Heading south on either I-30/I-430, take the first exit after the merger, exit 128. Stay on the frontage road heading south until you see the big church on your right (first you'll pass the big CalArk truck lot).

See ya there!
