Elk River Advice

Hi, everybody!

Has anyone paddled the Elk River recently? Big Sugar looks too low, and I need a quick day trip, so this is probably my only option. I've never paddled it. What are acceptable water levels? Any put in/take out information would be appreciated, as well (my friend and I have our own gear).

Thanks!
Alli

Little sugar is floatable from low water bridge to elk now. Elk is good to go and tourist free. Lots of businesses shut down during fall, but if you call around you might still find a rental or shuttle driver. Pineville is a good starting point.

Not yet. I'm not sure where that's at?

But the low water bridge, hwy 90, and other upstream bridge in MO are all accessible. Just have to pay 5 $ per car at hwy 90.

Public take out in pineville park at elk is lowest take out that i use.
