If anyone is thinking about one they're $85 on Uhaul.com with free shipping. I just pulled the trigger.

I never got the bottle. Uhaul called ten days or so after I placed the order to let me know they had reached out to Lite Cylinder (drop ship item) because at that point they hadn't heard anything. Lite Cylinder gave them an apparently bogus tracking number; clicking on the link never went past the "shipping information provided" stage. Uhaul finally called last Friday to tell me they had no idea what was going on with my order (or any of the several others for Lite Cylinder products) because they had reached out to them repeatedly and had yet to receive a response. Since they couldn't ascertain its status they recommended cancelling the order and I reluctantly agreed. I called Lite Cylinder myself and was finally able to reach a woman who promised repeatedly to call me back but never did. During my third call she finally confirmed my order, which she supposedly was in the process of shipping, had been cancelled.

I guess if I had kept my trap shut I would have gotten a free bottle, but who knows? I wouldn't have wanted anyone to be out the money any way, but I asked her what the issue was and she told me they had simply gotten behind and it took them a while to get the Uhaul order together. That's okay with me. I understand things happen and I wasn't in a big hurry to get it, but why didn't they just tell Uhaul that to begin with instead of feeding them false shipping information and dodging their calls? Now their products have been removed from Uhaul's web site and I'm hesitant to order from anyone else lest the seemingly legitimate story of demand temporarily outstripping supply turn out to be not so legitimate and I'm the one out the money. :wht:

You might call Cascade Outfitters and see if they still have them in stock. They won't be $85.00 though.

Thanks Rob. They're still widely available on line. The problem is they ultimately all come from Lite Cylinder, so what if they really are having deeper issues than they led Uhaul and me to believe? I could easily go through this all again with another vendor as the issue was not with Uhaul but with Lite Cylinder.
