I have a well used but still looks almost new roll a cot.
Many years service (forgot just when I got it) and expect it to last many more years.

I am a big fan of JPW Paco Pads, but a Roll A Cot makes Buffalo River gravel bar camping much easier, just ask Richard about cot camping. With all the issues of hanta virus infection (not sure of the spelling) I think it is a good thing to be elevated above the ground. Now if you want the ultimate river bed camping, put a JPW Paco pad on your Roll A Cot and that is camping in comfort for sure!

My plan is to put my Aire Landing Pad on it. It's two inches wider than the cot, but I don't think that will be a problem, do you?

Nope, my paco padis wider and longer than my roll a cot.

It just kind of folds along the sides and the bottom just slants down and hangs off the end.

The construction of the roll a cot with no cross bars makes things work ok with wider pads.

One thing I wonder about is sleeping on a roll a cot with thick pad during rain. IE if the rain would pool around the bivy bag and seep in. I think I would just put the pad under the cot during a heavy rain if I was in a bivy bag. On one GC trip, I did just wrap up in my tarp on the paco / rollacot. folded the tarp under the paco pad and that worked. But, it was not a prolonged downpour. Mostly wind, lightning, and brief intervals of big rain drops - typical GC storms.
