Tarpon 100 (10 foot) yellow plastic, with black folding seat. The kayak has some black bungie material on the rear cargo area to hold things in.
HIN #WEMNZ5T4E111
Has two cargo hatches. Forward cargo hatch broken and missing 1” of the black plastic on the edge nearest to the rider. Black Bungie cord that holds the seat closed or open is stretched out of shape.
Stolen between 2012-07-22 and 2012-07-29. Theft occurred from my boat dock on Beaver lake, near the blue springs launch ramp.
Reported to Washington County Sheriffs office on 2012-07-29. Their number is 1-479-444-5700.
The Kayak was secured to the boat dock with a 30 foot heavy cable and a padlock. The padlock and cable were taken with the kayak. I think it may have been possible to defeat the padlock with a large set of bolt cutters.
The boat dock is about 300 yards from a public launch ramp, and the kayak was visible from the ramp. The dock could either have been accessed by water or possibly by land, as the lake is very low now and it is possible to walk to the dock from the road. Other items on the dock were not disturbed, including 3 other kayaks that were secured by the same cable. The Tarpon that was stolen was the most expensive kayak, and the only one that was set up for fishing.
I am offering a $100 reward for the return of this kayak.
